Extreme Ice

One more post about ice, and then I will give it a break.
I don’t usually insert video into my blog - mainly because I have no idea how to do it.
Hopefully this one will come through.
It is a video from the Extreme Ice program on PBS.

Winter has Arrived

Even though the calendar says that winter doesn’t arrive for another 10 days, we are well entrenched in it here in New England.
Even the biting cold that doesn’t usually come until January has settled in.

It was the first time I had seen one like him, and when I checked my field guide, it stated that their normal habitat range was quite a bit further south than we are.
His body has the markings of most of the [...]

A Weather Quote by John Ruskin

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.

-By John Ruskin
After these past 5 days, this is certainly true.
Our region was hit with a severe ice storm that took our power away for 5 days.  Pretty [...]
