Dangerous Swimming
We have made it a point to go swimming every day at the lake for some much needed exercise.
We have gone to this lake for 28 summers and it has only been closed a couple of times due to Bluegreen Algae that covers the whole lake.
A good rain soaking usually takes care of it with in a couple of days as there is a dam that is constantly skimming off the top layer of water.
We went swimming early Saturday morning, and when we returned to swim on Sunday afternoon we were informed the lake had been closed since Saturday afternoon.
It had tested high for E Coli bacteria and was dangerous for swimmers.
That kind of scared us as it was closed shortly after we had left it the day before.
So far we haven’t been affected by it.
It makes us kind of nervous about swimming again once it tests okay.
A good rainfall will help but there is no rain predicted for at least the rest of this week.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted!
