Winter has Arrived
Even though the calendar says that winter doesn’t arrive for another 10 days, we are well entrenched in it here in New England.
Even the biting cold that doesn’t usually come until January has settled in.
It turned the foot of snow we received Wednesday into hardpack that is very unmovable.
And the driveway - it is quite a hill, and it is now ice covered.
Have to watch each step carefully - one incorrect move, and down you go - sliding all the way to the road.
Have to wedge the car tires into the snowbank, else we will find it in the middle of the road after it too has slid down the driveway, totally unattended.
It is said we are hardy New Englanders.
I think they really see us as crazy, after all, who in their right mind would live here as they get older.
It’s the other three seasons that make it all worth it!
