Passing on the Traditions
Almost time to trim the tree for Christmas this year.
Lights and handmade ornaments have been the decorations for years on our tree.
All of the ornaments were made by my mother-in-law and myself, so they all have special stories and meanings behind them.
The kids loved to hear them as they put them on the tree each year as they were growing up.
This year will be the first that my daughter has her own tree in her own home, and I am looking forward to passing on some of these special ornaments to her and her family.
Not to be forgotten, I have told my son that a box will be put together for him also for when his time comes.
The stories and traditions will be passed on to another generation.
I bet the ones who have gone before us are smiling from the joy they started years ago.
What a great tradition. I would certainly love to hear the stories behind all those handmade ornaments.
