It has been so long since I have experienced a snow like that, but you are right, there is something wonderful about the quiet of it. When I was little and enjoyed a good snow, I remember just clumping around in my Wellies, suddenly standing still and the only sound one would hear was one’s own breathing. It was lovely.

I’ve always noticed that about the silence of the snow. I think you’re right, it blankets everything and creates effective sound-proofing.
